Auto  A/C  Facts

Wow with the weather warming up here in Tavares, Florida it is amazing to think, How did people ever get along without air conditioning in their cars?

Air conditioning is a vital part of our comfort while driving in our vehicle. Often times and A/C system will stop keeping you cool simply because it is running low on Freon.  Why is it running low on Freon?  Well because either there is a leak somewhere or you have had the vehicle for a while.

On average a cars A/C system with no leaks will loose an average of an ounce of Freon every year, so with that being said if you look at a car that lets say holds 17 ounces of Freon and it is a 7 year old car, well the A/C system will probably have only around 10 ounces of Freon and that is not going to keep you cool.

You have to be careful when running low on Freon and running your A/C system. Running the system while it is low can cause further damage because the compressor and other parts aren't being lubricated properly and can burn out which will be a costly repair.

To have your A/C checked come by and we will check it out. We want to keep you cool this summer!

The importance of air conditioning system in vehicles is huge. At first it cools the engine down when it overheats during hot summer or a continuous ride. Then, it gives you cool air. It is considered as a luxury feature. During rainy days, you cannot drive the vehicle without AC due to excessive moisture on the front glass. Hence, you cannot overlook the maintenance of the electronic device. It should be checked regularly. For keeping the AC fit, you should run it for few minutes even in harsh winter.

Really informative blog post. Infrequent use of air condition may cause it's damage and hence needs proper maintenance at a regular interval. Generally we avoid the use of air conditioner during winter season for which it could be damaged and became ineffective during summer season when we needed it most. And another thing is that A/C compressor should be checked at a regular interval. And any types of damage related to the A/C should be immediately repaired.

Air conditioner is an important part of a car providing cool air to the passenger & as well as making the inside of the car cool. It is needed most during hot summer. But we should also use it for few minutes during winter failing which it will get ineffective when it is mostly required. Sometimes due to some leaks or other reasons,ac becomes low on freon. Running the ac when the freon is low often damages the compressor and other parts which are costly to repair. So in this case we should immediately contact car's ac repair mechanic who can easily detect the problem & able to repair it.

The air conditioning in my car hasn't been working very well, and I want it inspected and fixed before the weather gets too hot. Your article had some great information about auto AC, and I liked how you said to be careful if I'm still running my AC if it's low on Freon, as this can actually cause more damage. Thanks; I'll keep this in mind when hiring someone to fix my AC.

I appreciate your tip to check whether your car has Freon as a possible cause as to why there is no cool air coming out. My brother's Honda hasn't been blowing cool air for the whole summer. I keep telling him he needs to get it checked out. I will ask him if he has checked the Freon level.

I like that you said that a car's A/C in good condition would use an ounce of freon a year. My wife's car is going to need an a/c refill for her car. I'm going to have them check for any leaks in the system as well.

Thank you for all this great information about auto AC. I had no idea that with no leaks you lose about an ounce of freon! I will definitely have to look into that more now.

It's helpful that you said that you lose about an ounce of freon a year because that'll help me know when to refill/replace it. My AC hasn't been working for a while, which didn't bother me because it was so cold. But now that it's getting warmer, I should probably get it fixed before it becomes an inconvenience.

I really don't want to have to worry about my car's going out. The area I live in gets over one hundred degrees every summer and early fall. It is good to know that I might need to refill its freon. It also seems like I should look into getting some new parts for my AC as well.

My best friend mentioned to me last night that he is hoping to find a reliable vehicle repair because he's not able to use their car due to a transmission problem. Thanks for helping me understand how it works and I'll be sure to tell him that he can consult a well-known auto repair service as they can help him with his concerns.

Thanks so much for explaining how car AC systems work and why they might stop blowing cold air. My partner's car is old and the AC works sporadically. We've been looking into taking it to a repair shop so we can get it to work consistently.

It really helped when you said that we lose only an ounce of Freon every year when there is no leak in our system. In that case, we already need an auto cooling system repair because we might have a leak this time after owning the vehicle for five years. The air conditioning for our ride is blowing hot air for two days now which is why we had to open the window a little when we need to use it.

So freon needs to be replaced every 7 years? My car seems to be making a weird sputtering noise. I'll have to have a mechanic check it out.
